RYDENs NEW VIDEO STOPPED!

RYDENs new video ”The Devils Work” was today removed and banned from Youtube website. Reason for this; ”…video contains unauthorised pornographic material”. We guess they are referring to the beautiful woman dancing (yes, shirtless) flamenco in the video. Well, it´s not exactly hardcore porn, dear readers. A NEW not so raunchy ”video” is now up on youtube!

STRASSE - 10 YEARS OF SHAKESPEARE

10 years since the release of STRASSE single Shakespeare Was An American. STRASSE: ”Our first single following Transylvanian Flower. Also our first official music video! Sadly, working on SWAA and the upcoming Half Past Animal album, police authorities shut down the studio several times because of the many (gang) killings outside the studio entrance! This might not had an influence on the album, but were not too sure.” A real life Shakespeare story. The police/crime activity in the area now long since gone.

TRANSYLVANIAN FLOWER 2005-2015

It is now 10 years since the release of classic New Wave STRASSE album, TRANSYLVANIAN FLOWER. STRASSE: ”It was recorded in 3 weeks at Cloudchamber in 2004. Everything went very smooth, tons of fun and late night parties. At the time we had no record deal and got ”No, thank you” from our old record company.”
Well, Transylvanian Flower turned out be the best selling STRASSE album at the time. The single, Dying For The Wild Life and the album got highly positive reviews: ”Masterpiece”, ”The Sergeant Pepper of STRASSE”.
STRASSE TF Facts; The lead vocals on The Stranger In Your Eyes is the first and only take - "RYDEN had a second go, but it was awful!". The next album, Half Past Animal, starts with a fade-in, the fade-out from the Transylvanian Flower album. Producer : Charles Storm. The cover is a re-make of a Louise Storm artwork. ANDY WARHOL AND STRASSE

"Hi, it´s ANDY - Your new single is GREAT. Checkout STRASSE in the next Interview." "Mindblowing at the time", says STRASSE on having ANDY WARHOL as a mentor. "Even today it´s hard to believe it really happened. We first met at party in the early 80s. We talked about music, art and stuff. Andy had not heard of STRASSE but was very keen to listen. We were stunned. This was the man behind The Velvet Undergrounds debut album! "Why don´t you come to my place (The Factory) next week?". He was always very kind, generous and took time to help us out whenever he could. - Of course we wanted Andy to make a music video, but we could never come up with the right song. When we finally did the world was hit by bad news. Andy Warhol passed away in February 1987. STRASSE single: Crash Slowly.

"What Can You Do" - live in the studio, once a flip-side, can´t remember which single, though. But you can hear Ryden playing with his car keys - loud and clear! Also fun to hear NEULENGBACH. It was written and recorded in the same day and was meant for Transylvanian Flower, but didn´t really fit. It was also up for Half Past Animal... but instead - Damascus 602 took it´s place last minute." STRASSE Repossess at ONErpm.com

MIKE GARSON and STRASSE

The oustanding, Jazz/Avant garde pianist, Mike Garson worked on Strasse song Crashing (2009). Garson best known for his work with David Bowie and Nine Inch Nails. How did the collaboration with Wonder-Mike happen? Strasse fans contacted Garson with the wild idea of him co-labbing with Strasse.
”He (Garson) had heard some of our earlier songs and seemed to like them. Specially the instrumental ones", says singer, Ryden with a grin. Contact was made with Garson. Unfortunately, the Strasse album, Transylvanian Flower (2004) was just about to be released, so there was no time to let Mike in. New songs for the Half Past Animal album was sent to Garson; “Cool vibe, I’d love to play on it”, Garson replied. And so he did. Crashing, available at: Itunes, Amazon, Cdbaby.

STRASSE Biography

The Lord works in mysterious ways. Somewhere between Leeds, Manchester and Gothenburg, plans were made for STRASSE.
Europe. Mid-seventies. Rock was getting sleepy and pale. Punk wasn’t even heard of. Listening to Brecht/Weill and Kraftwerk seemed to be the only option. They had guts. Brains but no safety net. And a non-pretentious-way of making music.
The Velvet Underground was also a great inspiration for STRASSE songwriter/singer, Ryden. Mixing the German music scene with the l'enfant terrible of New York could be the perfect clash and a way to create their own sound.
